Our History

Stewart's History

My financial services career began in 1999 with Morgan Stanley Dean Witter.

In September of 2002, I founded McCollum Financial Group, LLC. My goal was to establish a full-service consulting and management firm that would provide a complete range of financial and insurance services tailored to each individual client.

From its inception my company was the only local firm specializing in labor union financial advocacy. Our dealings with these labor organizations ranged from individual one-on-one counseling for union members and their families to investment management of the general membership and other special purpose assets of the Local.

Moving forward, many of my clients now include health care facilities, not-for-profits, hometown businesses, and individuals. Our most recent achievement is the formation of a separate insurance division providing a robust menu of risk management offerings.

We have also established strategic alliances with a vast array of industry leading money managers and insurance providers whose expertise we can also leverage to create customized client solutions. Below are a few of the services we offer:

  • Business Strategies
  • Personal Finance
  • Investments
  • Insurance
  • Employee Benefits
  • Retirement Plans

My business is located in a picturesque Upstate New York town, where I have a wide range of clients from my community, from all over New York state and beyond. I never mind travelling to meet up with a client, so do not hesitate to call. Even in these uncertain times, there are many virtual ways to meet and maintain on-going communication.

When I'm not working I like to spend time on the St. Lawrence River with my family or simply have dinner with friends. Any other spare time is taken up by pets and kids, which is probably not much different than most people these days.

If you are not already a client, and you are in need of financial services, let my experience go to work for you and yours.
